Q Discussion 7/3 Do some research on hypertension in this country. What are the national statistics? How do these statistics reflect differences between essential hypertension and secondary hypertension? Are there some groups that are impacted more than others? What kinds of things do you expect to see as far as comorbidity, etc., when you are coding for medical conditions? Why is it important for medical coders to know the different types of hypertension and when they can anticipate seeing them in a patient's chart? This is not an exhaustive list.
